Day1. La Paz – Copacabana - Sun Island (Isla del Sol)
We leave early in the morning for our day tour at the Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival in Copacabana we visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana which is a 16th century church that houses the image the patron saint of Bolivia. The church attracts thousands of local tourists throughout the year and it remains one of the two principal sacred places both for indigenous people and Catholics. After lunch we leave by boat to visit the famous Sun Island (Isla del Sol).
We visit the Inca Staircase, the Inca Fountain as well as the ruins of the Palacio de Pilkokaina (“place where the birds rest”). This construction is characterised by its walls and doors that are particularly well conserved. We spend the night in an Eco Lodge in Yumani.
Day2. Sun Island (Isla del Sol) – Copacabana – La Paz
After breakfast we start our trek of the Isla del Sol which along the crest of the island takes us from the south to the north of the island. During our trek we have an unobstructed view of the sacred Lake Titicaca and if the weather permits in the background the Royal Cordillera with its snow-capped peaks.
We visit Chincana which is also called the Inca Labyrinth and the sacred rock and we continue to Challapampa where we visit the museum before taking the boat back to Copacabana. In Copacabana a private vehicle will be waiting to bring us back to La Paz. End of our services
