1. Cochabamba - Tunari Mountain
With its 5030 m, the Tunari is the highest mountain visible from the city of Cochabamba. Depending on the season, we might have a spectacular view of the valley of Cochabamba from the summit or the sensation of floating in the passing clouds. We go up the peak from the north side. After about 2 hours drive in a 4x4 vehicle, we arrive at Laguna Macho at approx. 4600 m where the hike begins. From there, it’s an ascent of 2 - 3 hours, depending on the route we take, the weather conditions, and the fitness level of the group.
We are often accompanied by the curious looks of grazing lamas or observed by Condors flying their rounds over the peaks. If we get lucky, we might even see one of the shy Viscachas (an Andean rodent). The hike is technically easy but the altitude makes it more challenging. This tour can be done during the whole year. There may however be temporary problems accessing the place of departure between January and April due to the rainy season. End of our services

Note: Due to the altitude this tour is physically demanding. We don’t recommend it for people with heart problems, high blood pressure, pregnant women, or general bad shape (stomach problems, cold or flu, etc.) We recommend that you pass some days in Cochabamba prior to taking this tour, in order to get used to the altitude.
