Day1.Trinidad – Flotel Riverboat
In the morning you are transferred from your hotel to the protected area of Ibare Mamore at Puerto Puentes some 18km/11 mi west of town and we embark on the riverboat (Flotel) “Reina de Enin”. From the terrace, we can observe the “Bufeos” (river dolphins) as well as other of the numerous animals that live along the river bank. By mid-afternoon, we arrive in the Yuracare de San Renato community (or another community) where we have time to discover the daily life in the community before returning to the Flotel.
Day2. Flotel Riverboat
We have breakfast with the view of the river and after breakfast, we leave to find a beach from where we can go for a swim with the ambassadors of Beni, the river dolphins. After lunch, we visit an Estancia (ranch) where we go for a tour on horseback (approx. 1 ½ hours) to visit the surrounding pampa and selva. On our route, we observe the numerous bird species that are typical of the area. In the evening, after dinner, we go for a boat safari tour to try and get some pictures of the Yacare caiman.
Day 3. Flotel Riverboat
Today we go for a visit to the indigenous communities of Mamore. In the very well-structured communities of Rosario and Boibo, we can see how they have managed to keep a good relationship between man and nature in their trails, clearings, and suspended houses. We’ll have the chance to talk to them about their daily life in this remote area. We will, of course, enjoy a swim from one of the beaches in the company of the dolphins and we’ll see more varied wildlife in this well-preserved remote area. We return to the Flotel where we spend the night.
Day4. Flotel Riverboat - Trinidad
In the morning we sail to Laguna Victoria where we go for a 2-hour walk in the area to discover the local flora (Bibosi, Coquino, Ochoo, Peloto, Patuju...). With some luck, we can also observe certain mammals like the squirrel monkeys or the black howler monkey. In the afternoon we sail to the area of Laguna Verde where we can also go for a short walk, go fishing and also observe the abundant fauna of the area.
We can take an “Abubuya” bath – the Abubuya bath consists of letting oneself flow with current with the help of a buoy) – in order to find the dolphins. After this last activity, we return to the port with a rapid boat to return to Trinidad where our adventure ends.
End of our services.
